CITY TRIO DOUBTFUL FOR CUP GAME

The Manchester City trio of Kevin De Bruyne, Kyle Walker and Sergio Aguero are doubts for the Citizens ahead of their FA Cup fourth round trip to Cheltenham Town who ply their trade in the English League Two, the third tier of club football in England. Manchester City were the FA Cup champions before they were dethroned by Arsenal last season and the target is to win the competition again just like they did two seasons ago. Manchester City are already in the final of another cup competition, the Capital One Cup. They will face Tottenham Hotspur in the final at the Wembley Stadium with the hope of winning the competition for a fourth consecutive season.

Manchester City beat English Championship team Birmingham City 3-0 at home in the FA Cup third round to secure their place in the fourth round and they are massive favourites to seal a fifth round place ahead of lowly Cheltenham Town when they meet this weekend.

Bernardo Silva scored twice in the third round for Manchester City, while Phil Foden netted the other goal. Ahead of the Cheltenham Town game, Manchester City could miss up to four players due to injuries and Covid-19 problem. Manchester City beat Aston Villa 2-0 at home in the league last night and the victory came at a cost as Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker had to limp off due to various muscular issues. Kyle Walker was subbed off for OleksandrZinchenko in the first half, while Brazilian international Gabriel Jesus replaced Kevin De Bruyne on 58 minutes because of his muscular injury. Both Kyle Walker and Kevin De Bruyne are not expected to feature in the FA Cup game at Cheltenham Town even if they recover from injury. Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is also a doubt for that FA Cup clash as he’s currently self-isolating after coming in contact with someone who tested positive for Covid-19. He has missed the past few games because of this reason but the Argentine could make a return to the Manchester City squad at the weekend.
